Shawn Mitchell attended Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC, the only university in the nation with a trust and wealth management program. He received his BBA & MBA in trust and investment management, with a minor in financial planning, in 2009. He also holds the CTFA and ATFA certification.

Upon graduation, Shawn spent over eight years in trust administration with Bank of America in Texas. During that time, he administered various trusts, IRAs, and investment management accounts. Since joining Advocacy Trust in 2018, Shawn has led the creation and administration of all account types that Advocacy Trust offers, including unique account types such as Pooled Trust offerings and 678 Trusts.

Shawn and his wife met in high school and have two children. In their free time, they enjoy swimming and hiking in the mountains.
